Another rather cheesy headline, I know. But it’s cheesy for a reason, since I’ve found a real little gem today. As we all know, there are plenty of free impulse responses scattered all over the web, but rarely are they so well organized and neatly cathegorized as they are on irlibrary.org. Read more »

Freeware goodness in sight! Behold the Venom VB-303, a software synthesizer inspired by the famous Roland 303 bass synth. This plugin, currently being developed by the KVR Forum member antto, follows the sequencer based workflow of Roland’s hardware synth to the max, so don’t expect anything else than working with patterns here. And that’s exactly the way it should be. Old school FTW! Besides that, it is amazing that a plugin which sounds so good and looks so pro can be completely FREE! Read more »
I know I like my samples dry. When downloading samples of hardware instruments, I’m always happy when they are offered completely unprocessed, because it’s closer to working with a real instrument. There are exceptions though, like Goldbaby’s analog tape drum machine samples, but that’s just pure genious.
Anyway, as I will be releasing a bunch of samples this fall, how would you like them to be… completely authentic, or enhanced? To cast your vote, use the poll in the sidebar. Thanks for sharing your opinion!

Always nice to have good and ready loops at your disposal. Even better when they are nicely classified by genre and/or BMP, which makes it easier for you to find exactly what you need. Read more »

Here’s a little something to spark a nice bit of fire into you bedroom studio. Royksopp are giving away the parts to ‘Tricky Tricky‘, a song featuring Karin Dreijer (The Knife / Fever Ray), purpose of the giveaway being a remix competition that you can enter for free! If you think this is bloody awesome, read on.
Thought so. Anyway, here’s how Svein, a member of Royksopp, describes this competition:
This is yet another shabby attempt at giving something back to our fans – or rather get our fans involved in our shabby doings… Yes, this is an invitation to all of you dedicated souls out there who want to take part in the Röyksopp legacy! Read more »
Ok so which ones you want first, happy or sad? Can’t hear you. Well i pick sad. Lolz.
So the sad news is, there won’t be any special updates on September 1st. Wanted to do too much and gave myself too little time. Wow, these bad news were short.
And now the happy stuff. The updates to the blog will come much sooner than later. Meaning I don’t want to specify any deadlines any more, but you can count on some nice things showing up here somewhere around mid-October. And there won’t be only three new samplepacks but more than twice that much. Aha! The blog will also be redisegned as promised. Well, see you soon. Subscribe and stuff!
I’m going on a vacation. It’s too hot, too sunny, and there are too many pretty girls outside right now for me to be blogging.
So dear readers, see you later. When? September 1st. What will happen then? Oh, not much, except for a complete blog redesign, new interviews, and a release of three new FREE samplepacks!
Enjoy your summer!

Some plugins aren’t free, but they’re still bloody awesome. Ballistic, a new drum sampler developed and released by de la Mancha, gives you all the handy tools you may need in a software drum sampler, packed with a bonus of 600+ amazing drum samples ranging from analogue sounding hip-hop drums to 8bit and glitch. All of that for a tiny price of 10$, all of which will go straight into the hands of people fighting against cancer at Cancer Research UK. Read more »

Do you know TesslaSE, a neat free plugin that provides subtle analog saturation, and thus brings boring and dull sounds to life? Well if you liked that one, you will simply fall in love with TesslaPRO. Read more »
